Dr. Susan Fantinato is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO). She has extensive experience working with adults, adolescents, and families who are navigating emotional, relational, and life challenges.

Dr. Fantinato takes an integrative approach to therapy, drawing on psychodynamic, attachment-based, relational, and developmental perspectives, while incorporating evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). She believes that effective therapy should be individualized and responsive to each person's unique circumstances, experiences, needs, and goals.

An important part of Dr. Fantinato's approach is taking the time to understand the person within the broader context of their life. This includes recognizing the ways that culture, family, identity, values, community, and life experiences can shape how individuals understand themselves, their relationships, and the challenges they face. She approaches this work with cultural humility and curiosity, recognizing that each person's experience is unique and that meaningful therapy begins with understanding the individual from their own perspective.

Dr. Fantinato works with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma and stress-related difficulties, emotional regulation challenges, life transitions, grief, relationship concerns, and difficulties affecting work, school, and everyday functioning. She also has particular experience supporting neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

With more than three decades of clinical experience, Dr. Fantinato brings a depth of knowledge, clinical perspective, and compassion to her work. Her extensive training in psychodynamic and attachment-based psychotherapy has shaped her understanding of how early experiences, relationships, and patterns of coping can influence the way individuals understand themselves and relate to others. At the same time, she recognizes the value of practical, evidence-based strategies that can help clients manage challenges and make meaningful changes in their day-to-day lives.

Whether you are seeking therapy for concerns that have been present for many years or are navigating a particularly difficult period in your life, Dr. Fantinato provides a supportive and thoughtful space to slow down, gain a deeper understanding of what you are experiencing, and develop meaningful pathways toward change. Her goal is to help clients feel understood and respected, develop greater self-awareness, and move toward greater emotional well-being and a stronger sense of themselves.
